60 firefighters were sent to the Electric Cinema when a fire started in the kitchens extractor fan system. Everyone was safely evacuated and there were no injuries.

"The damage caused to the Electric Cinema, House and Brasserie by the fire in June has given us an opportunity to build something new. Out of the ashes, the Electric will reopen in late November 2012 with a host of new developments: completely restored with a reuphostered interior, upgraded sound system and digital projection and new seats. In the meantime, we'd like to thank all of our customers for their patience and words of support for the Electric, we look forward to unveiling it to you soon."
